Wisconsin is blessed with significant natural resources, including grasslands, wetlands, and forests. Many of these are open to public hunting, including managed forest areas, state forests, state recreation areas, and even some federal lands. In addition, by arrangement with the state or in exchange for the use of Wisconsin's public resources, several industries (such as paper mills who that use forest products) and private land holders have opened their lands for hunting. You can learn more about private lands and their restrictions at the DNR's website.
