About Us

Originally built as a dirt oval, the state-of-the-art karting facility was converted to asphalt in 2000 and grew to include an air-conditioned restaurant, permanent restrooms and showers, a covered grid staging area, a fantastic lighting system for night racing and much more. The track has quickly become a favorite among pavement oval karter's because of its smooth surface and multiple racing grooves and has hosted a number of major events including WKA Nationals over the last 5 years.

In May of 2006 long time karter and karting products manufacturer Mike Burris and the Burris family purchased the 1/5 mile paved oval facility called Fast Track! Fast Track was purchased by Burris (the track ownership is not affiliated with Burris Corp.) with the goal of rejuvenating asphalt oval racing in that part of the country.

"We bought the facility because we feel it is a good long term investment. We also believe that with a different approach to the more traditional oval rules and classes we can make local and regional racing more economical on a regular basis" stated Burris. "The karter's from Indiana and the surrounding states are a very diverse and open minded karting population and we want to accommodate them on the Fast Track oval where we run classes for both sprint and oval chassis and power plants ranging from 8 hp 4cycles to 40+ hp 2 and 4 cycle opens. With Mark Dismore's addition of an oval to his world class facility in New Castle I feel the timing is right for these changes to take place."

Burris continues, "In the past asphalt oval racing in most areas has had a very difficult time of being successful because of the costly tire rules and bloated class structure that were adopted from the major sanctioning bodies. We want to change this and make it affordable for the locals to race with us on a regular basis with equipment they run at other tracks during the season."

"With a Burris spec tire rule as the cornerstone, one of the goals of our oval program will be promoting the F200 engine format along side the more traditional 2 and 4 cycle sprint and oval classes. Eventually we want to put more emphasis on the F200 amateur and Pro classes in both Jr and Sr. divisions to cover all the racer's needs and use the Pro classes to showcase our drivers, crews, and shops who want to race at a higher level of visibility."

"As the Fast Track and NCMP oval programs become more established Mark and I have discussed the running of a series which would be another enhancement for oval racing in the mid west. In addition to the series we will research the inclusion of other events for Fast Track that hopefully will have long term benefits to offer the regional karting economy as well as Fast Track."

Fast Track is managed by long time area resident and karting enthusiast Cecil Grubb. Regarding Grubb Burris says, "Cecil and his family are dedicated karter's and he does a great job of being fair and running the events and it has been a pleasure to work with him on building a better program."
