Featured Quilter: Bev Wallace
Bev's love of sewing began when her mother first taught her how to do hand embroidery when she was just 8 years old. Soon afterward, she learned to sew doll clothes on a treadle sewing machine, and in high school she made most of her clothes. Bev started quilting about 30 years ago and has been a valued member of Lakeside Quilters since 2000. Her first love of quilting is working with Civil War reproduction fabrics and recreating antique patterns. Most of her quilts are scrappy but she also enjoys needle turn applique, paper piecing, quilting challenges, making bags and creating miniature quilts. She has learned so much from quilt shop classes, guild workshops, pins on Pinterest and videos on YouTube. She would be the first to tell you there is always something new to discover in the world of quilting. Bev is honored to be this year's featured quilter and looks forward to visiting with everyone during the show.
