Riverwalk Festival

Downtown Lowell

The Riverwalk Festival is celebrating 30 years! First held in 1995, the Riverwalk Festival was introduced as an annual fundraiser to support the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce and its initiative to promote Lowell as a great place to live, work, and play.

The first Riverwalk Festival was a two-day event held over Labor Day Weekend and featured a "Duck Race". In 2003, the Riverwalk planning committee determined a date change was needed to avoid competing with the holiday weekend. The Riverwalk Festival was moved to the second weekend in July, occurring over two nights and one full day.  At the same time, fireworks, kayak races, and a classic car show were added.

Although we no longer dump plastic ducks in the water to race, the mainstay Duck Raffle, arts and crafts vendors, food, live entertainment, 5k run/walk, car show, and fireworks continue to be the focus of Riverwalk Festival.
