Ravinia is the longest running and most programmatically diverse outdoor music festival in North America, welcoming about 400,000 guests to over 100 events each year. Passenger trains stop at our historic entrance during the summer, serviced by Metra’s Union Pacific North Line—a tie to our origin from a railroad company. Ravinia is the only private train stop in Illinois!
Schedule of Events
7:30pm: Earth, Wind & Fire
Since the 1970s, Earth, Wind & Fire has had audiences grooving with the band’s unique fusion of jazz, R&B, and pop. Founded by drummer, bandleader, songwriter, kalimba player, and vocalist Maurice White, EWF combines high-caliber musicianship, wide-ranging musical genre eclecticism, and ’70s multicultural spiritualism.
Speaking on the band’s legacy, White explained, “I wanted to do something that hadn’t been done before. I wanted our music to convey messages of universal love and harmony without force-feeding listeners’ spiritual content.”
Last seen at Ravinia in 2018, EWF will return for an electrifying evening of iconic hits, including “September,” “Let’s Groove,” “Boogie Wonderland,” and “After the Love Has Gone.” With a sound that remains as dynamic and uplifting as ever, the band’s current lineup includes Philip Bailey (vocals, kalimba, conga, percussion), Verdine White (bass, percussion, vocals), and Ralph Johnson (vocals, drums, percussion), alongside a powerhouse ensemble of musicians bringing their legendary catalog to life.
Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 and honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, Earth, Wind & Fire continues to influence generations of artists and fans. Their timeless grooves, rich harmonies, and infectious energy make every performance an unforgettable celebration of music and movement.
