Jon Dryden is a pianist/keyboardist/composer and lecturer in Jazz Studies at SJSU, where he earned his Master’s in Jazz Studies in 2016. After moving to New York City in 1991, Dryden began collaborating with Michal Urbaniak, Lenny White, Kanny Garrett, the Brecker Brothers, Patrice Rushen and more. He has recorded and appeared with superstars like Norah Jones, David Byrne, Dave Chappelle, John Mayer and Questlove, and has notably composed and performed music for Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story and David Byrne’s Finite=Alright. He has composed and orchestrated hundreds of pieces, and is active as a performer throughout Northern California, New York and Europe.
