July 3rd is the Capital City’s largest festival of the year - a national holiday celebrated in a uniquely Montpelier way. Enjoy family-friendly activities happening downtown throughout the day.
The fun begins at 3pm with the July 3rd Food Truck Festival and FamilyFest on the State House Lawn. After the FamilyFest, the Montpelier Mile Road Race begins at 6 pm and kicks-off the Community Parade! After enjoying the parade, join us on the State House Lawn for live music and more fun. The night is capped off by an epic fireworks show!

3:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Family Fest on the State House Lawn
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm: No Strings Marionette Company on the East Lawn
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm: MINC Band on the East Lawn
3:00 pm - 9:30 pm: Food Truck Festival on State Street in front of the State House
5:00 pm -6:00 pm: Capital City Band on the Vermont Supreme Court Lawn
6:00 pm: The Montpelier Mile presented by Onion River Outdoors
6:15 pm: Community Parade
The July 3rd Parade starts at the Spring Street roundabout, travels down Main Street and State Street in front of the State House, ending near 133 State Sreet. Parade viewing is best on Main Street and State Street. This year vendors will be located on the DMV side of State Street. Parade viewing will be great from the State House side of the street.
