This One Might Hurt a Little
Hey you Hill Climbers. Over here Downhillers. Calling Fasties and Speedsters. We’ve got a new race that will test your hill skills. We’re putting on a Time Trial on Firelane 1 in Forest Park this spring. It’s a wee-bit steep and you go both up and down. The Firelane Trail Trial course is 4.45 miles roundtrip, with 1,266 feet of total gain and total loss. Hill Yeah!
Fastest wins, like most other races, but a Time Trial format is a little different as you don’t know where you stand compared to other racers while you’re running or even when you finish. There are wave starts where everyone gets an assigned time slot. Groups of ten runners take off, every ten minutes. You run all the way up Firelane 1, tag the gate and wave to the live-feed camera, fly back all the way back down, and high five the race directors.
After you catch your breath, you’ll head directly to Great Notion Brewing to join fellow racers and spectators to watch the live feed of the race, and to see where you stand. Enjoy some brews and n/a beverages, pizza if you want it, and hang out in the actual brewery.
There are 160 spots. If you think you might be slower, choose an earlier time slot so you can be sure to be finished and at Great Notion by 1:00.
