The Door County Plein Air Festival is an invitational event - our invitations committee selects between 30 to 36 painters from across the United States to participate each year. We look for a wide variety of artists whose styles represent the breadth and scope of contemporary plein air painting.

Schedule of Events:

09:00 am - 11:00 am: Quick Paint at Downtown Fish Creek
11:00 am - 04:00 pm: PenArt open

Watch the 2025 invited artists complete a painting from start to finish during the fast-paced Quick Paint along the streets and shoreline of Fish Creek.

9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Kids Paint at PenArt
Kids can join in the excitement of the Quick Paint too! Stop by PenArt, pick up your grab-n-go art kit, and share your results in our children's gallery. First Come - First Served art kits available while supplies last.

11:00 am - 04:00 pm: Open Door Celebration at PenArt 
We're throwing open the doors! View fresh works in the gallery, tour the campus, enjoy a beverage, grab some lunch, and take home a piece of Door County on canvas. All works for sale. Priority viewing for Palette Pass holders. 

11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Music by Cathy Grier at PenArt
12:30 pm - 02:00 pm: Quick Paint Live Auction at PenArt
