The best (and only) science festival in Colorado is back again with 16 days of fun and engaging events designed to showcase STEAM where it's taking place in Colorado Springs and around the Pikes Peak Region. There are events for all ages- adults, kids, teens and families - and most are absolutely free (some events may have a fee to help the hosts cover their costs).
We'll have dozens of exciting science magic shows, laboratory tours and demos, rockets, drone soccer, live animals robots, liquid nitrogen ice cream, Insectapalooza, and lots of other hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) activities and exhibits for kids (primarily K-8th grades). It's all Free (even the parking) and fun for all ages!
Once Carnival Day is over, the festival events kick into high gear. There will be events for all ages, pre-K to adults, and most are free.
Schedule:
9:30am - 12pm: Concrete Coyote Paleontology Dig Day
A special event of the 2025 Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival
Join us at the Concrete Coyote paleontology dig site. Kids will discover our "fossils" buried in dirt Crete (much softer concrete), then dig them out using chisels, hammers, wire brushes, and goggles just like real paleontologists! They will make observations about what fossils they found and what kind of environment they might be digging in. Our scientists will also be giving anatomy (and general) lessons of ancient dinosaurs and pterosaurs! What a fun day out in the field!

Have you ever seen tie-dye on a black t-shirt? Join us to learn reverse tie-dye techniques while creating a colorful, graffiti-inspired t-shirt to take home yourself or for a friend! A single black shirt will be provided for each participant (S-XXL) while supplies last, and feel free to bring a shirt from home! For ages 13-18.
