The Kofi Creative Group, the driving force behind Africa LIVE!, is a dynamic collective of musicians from Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, and Nigeria. Together, they bring Africa’s diverse musical traditions to life, blending timeless classics with contemporary sounds from across the continent. Through collaborations with rising African artists, they craft an immersive, authentic African music experience like no other.

D. Shawn
Darius Middleton, professionally known as D. Shawn, is a multifaceted artist, educator, and community advocate whose work bridges music, mentorship, and service. A 2016 graduate of North Carolina Central University, D. Shawn has performed internationally and collaborated with some of the industry’s finest—yet considers his work with NCCU among his proudest achievements. He annually produces homecoming shows, mentoring students both individually and in groups, and has guest lectured in courses such as Hip Hop History with 9th Wonder and Leadership with Kent Williams.

A classically trained vocalist and pianist, D. Shawn was signed to Sony Music from 2016–2019. His song “TBH” was featured on Tank’s mixtape Just Vybes, and he currently sings background vocals for Grammy-winning artist Anthony Hamilton. He is a recipient of the Carolina Music Award for Best R&B Group/Band (2016) and serves as a vocal and piano instructor with InHomeMusicTeachers. In addition to holding a substitute teacher certification, D. Shawn frequently hosts youth and community-centered events, embodying a passion for uplifting others through music, education, and leadership.
