Kick Off The Month of May

The 500 Festival Kickoff to May, presented by Star Bank, literally kicks off the greatest month in Indiana and starts the countdown to the Indy 500. Held at Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis, the event is packed full of festivities! Join us as we welcome the spirit of May with members of the community, the 500 Festival Board of Directors, the 500 Festival Princesses, race fans, and maybe even a few surprise guests! At this event, you can also pick up prizes from exhibitors, take photos with the 2025 Festival Cars, and so much more.

This event is free and open to the public.

2025 500 Festival + STAR Bank Kickoff to May Contest
Hoosiers ages 18 and older, are invited to enter for the chance to win an exclusive Month of May prize pack! To enter, participants write a short story sharing their favorite May memories, whether from 500 Festival events or traditions linked to the Indianapolis 500 race. This contest ties into this year’s 500 Festival theme, ‘Connected through May,’ celebrating the special connections the community shares during this iconic time of the year.
