225Fest, the premier celebration of Baton Rouge culture, emerged from the annual 225Day, a social media phenomenon that celebrated the food, music, memes, and memories associated with the iconic Baton Rouge area code, 225. In 2022, 225Fest Founder Myra N. Richardson united various leaders and organizations to champion culture in the capital region, aiming to boost morale and reshape the narrative about the beloved city.
The Inaugural 225Fest in 2023 marked the largest festival celebrating culture in the capital region, attracting over 14,000 attendees to Downtown Baton Rouge. We doubled our attendance in 2024 with over 30,000 event festival goers. The street festival featured food trucks, kids' activities, an art walk, health fair, and live performances. As we eagerly anticipate the next edition, we're committed to elevating the celebration to new heights!
