In Wisconsin, all hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1973 must complete a state-approved hunter education course and present the certificate in order to purchase a hunting license. The courses must be a minimum of 10 hours, but average 18 hours in length. All students must also complete an Internet field day to earn the certificate. Before you begin a course, visit the Go Wild website or a DNR service center to get a customer ID number. Then you can locate a course on the DNR hunter education page.
